The New York Rangers announced that center Filip Chytil will be out for the remainder of the season on Sunday.

The statement claims that the focus will be to have the young star return to professional hockey in 2024-2025.

The 24-year-old pivot suffered an injury on Nov. 2 in a contest against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Czech native returned home to recover for a few weeks.

The upper-body injury had Chytil sidelined until Jan. 25 when he returned to practice with the team for the first time.

On Jan.26 Chytil fell at practice and needed help getting off the ice, sources said that the injury he sustained was related to his prior injury.

In 10 games this season, Chytil recorded six points which were all assists. His $4.4 million cap hit will remain on the LTIR for the rest of the season.
