Hartford's leading goal scorer among defensemen has signed an extension with the Rangers organization.
The New York Rangers have signed 24-year-old defenseman Brandon Scanlin to a multi-year contract extension.
Scanlin's contract is a two-year, two-way contract with an AAV of $775k at the NHL level and $250k at the AHL level.
The 24-year-old defenseman was signed his three-year entry-level contract from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and has spent the last three seasons with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL.
This season with the Wolf Pack, Scanlin has recorded seven goals and seven assists for 14 points. Seven goals are the most by a Hartford defenseman this season.
In 119 games throughout his AHL career, Scanlin is plus-21 while on the ice. He has 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 119 AHL games.
During his college career, which totaled 98 games across three seasons, Scanlon recorded 11 goals and 51 assists for 62 points at Omaha. He recorded six goals and 31 points over 38 games in his final collegiate season.
