The Rangers now own a six-game winning streak -- is the clamor for GM Chris Drury to make a Super deal reduced to a veritable whisper?

Check your calendars, New York Rangers fans, because the pages are getting closer and closer to the notorious Trade Deadline, March 8.

Figure it out; only a dozen days remaining this month followed by eight more in March.

    That's it.

    Chris Drury

And with the Blueshirts breezing along with the breeze -- alias a six-game winning streak -- the clamor for Grand Poobah Chris Drury to make a Super deal has been reduced to a veritable whisper.

Ah, but with Blake Wheeler being wheeled to the infirmary, it just might behoove Don Corleone Drury to fetch a more workmanlike third-liner to replace Blake.

The Maven suggests someone so unknown, he might have taken your seat on the "A" Eighth Avenue Express without you realizing it.

    How about Alexander Wennberg.

Who? What? Say it again please! Gladly.

Alex Wennberg of the Seattle Kraken for depth, I tell you, DEPTH.

Wenneberg has collected eight goals with 14 assists for 22 points and is a plus-1.

He'll fit the New York offense like a brand, new pair of socks. Unlike the Wolf Packers coach Peter Laviolette is auditioning, this 6-2, 196 pounder has had experience with the Florida Panthers as well as Seattle.

Versatile, Wennberg can play center or wing, can kill penalties and will be a free agent after the season.

P.S. Just in case Wennberg prefers shopping in Seattle's Pike Street Market, my backup choice is Anthony Duclair of the San Jose Sharks. But let's keep that one among ourselves!
