The New York Rangers might have a gem on their hands. In the first round of the 2023 NHL Draft, the Rangers selected forward Gabe Perreault and that pick is looking like a steal. His former teammate and current Anaheim Ducks forward Cutter Gauthier knows how good Perreault truly is and he’s confident that the Rangers' prospect is a star in the making. “He’s sick,” Gauthier said. He can see everything. … (He) can make plays out of his a– that I have never seen before. We played together on the power play and he made life so easy. He was feeding me pucks that not a lot of guys (were able) to.” The 19-year-old is coming off of a massive season at Boston College where he recorded 19 goals, 41 assists and 60 points in 36 games. Put his skills aside and he still has the qualities of an NHL player in terms of his maturity and mentality that is impressive for his age. “He’s definitely NHL-ready mentally,” Gauthier said.
