WA-NYR-TradeRumours Sidney Crosby will be out against the New York Rangers with an upper-body injury. This is the first time Crosby has missed a regular-season game since April 7, 2022, ironically also against the Rangers. Crosby was on the ice with his teammates for practice on Friday as Penguins coach Mike Sullivan believes that’s a positive sign. “We're taking each day as it comes,” Sullivan said. “Obviously he's an important player for us and so when he's not in our lineup, he's a hard guy to replace. He's the heartbeat of this team.” The 37-year-old was named captain of Team Canada for the 4-Nations Face-Off, which starts on Feb. 12. His status for the upcoming tournament remains up in the air.
