Even after a multitude of rumors, it seems that Jacob Trouba is likely to remain with the New York Rangers. Early on in the offseason, all signs were pointing in the direction that the Rangers would trade their captain due to financial reasons. However, 14 days have passed since the start of free agency and Trouba is still yet to be moved. ESPN’s Emily Kaplan spoke about Trouba’s future in New York. “If I had to put my money on it right now, my gut is he will be on the Rangers opening night roster,” Kaplan told Jay Onrait on TSN. At this point in the offseason, trading Trouba will be difficult and replacing him wouldn’t be an easy task for general manager Chris Drury either.
