Most notable free agents have already been signed, meaning if the Rangers were to move on from Trouba, that would leave a major hole in their roster since it will be a lot harder to replace him now. It also means that most teams will not be as willing to take on Trouba’s contract this late in the offseason. Trouba holds a hefty $8 million cap hit and that’s a lot of money to take on at this point in time.
