With the exit this summer of players like Mark Kastelic and Parker Kelly, the Senators beefed up their bottom six today by signing right winger Michael Amadio and Noah Gregor.
Amadio signed a three-year deal to return to the Senators with a cap hit of $2.6 million. He had 14 goals last season and closed with 27 points for a second straight year. His new deal in Ottawa more than triples the $762 thousand he made in each of the past two seasons.
Amadio is 28 years old, 6-foot-1, and 200 pounds. Like David Perron, signed earlier in the day, he brings another recent Cup ring into the room, winning in 2023. Amadio was very briefly a Senator, skating in just five games in 2020-21.
The Sens let him walk that summer, and he signed the following season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, who eventually put him on waivers. Amadio was claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights, who signed him to a very modest two-year deal. All he did was help them win a Stanley Cup in 2023, scoring 10 points in 16 games during that playoff run.
The Senators also signed centre Noah Gregor to a one-year, $850,000 contract on Monday. Gregor is a 25-year-old depth forward who forechecks hard and likes to get involved.
Gregor spent last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, posting six goals and six assists in 63 games.
