After the long Victoria Day weekend, and the unofficial start of summer, it's time to get caught up on what you may have recently missed in Sens Nation.

The Tuesday after a long weekend is never easy. So why not get busy shirking your work responsibilities by checking out some of the top news stories and features you may have recently missed in Sens Nation:

We kicked the tires on recent speculation about a Jakob Chychrun-for-Nikolaj Ehlers deal. Would it make sense for the Senators? Like Chychrun, Ehlers is entering the final year of his contract and will reportedly be shopped by the Winnipeg Jets in the lead-up to next month's NHL Draft.

With Travis Green recently being hired as coach, The Summer of Staios is officially underway. We reviewed GM Steve Staios's to-do list, which includes attending to goaltending, defence, and depth scoring, not to mention injuries and contract questions surrounding stars.

The NHL Draft is set for next month in Las Vegas, where the Senators new management group will make their draft table debut. Before we dive into what's to come, we reviewed the past decade to see how previous management teams have fared with their first round selections.

We began gazing at prospects who might be available to the Senators in next month's draft. When looking at the list of prospects, the name "Iginla" kind of jumps off the page. Tij Iginla is the eldest son of beloved Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla.

Former Ottawa Senators' founder Bruce Firestone told an incredible story last month of how the NHL's return to Ottawa was almost taken down by a wasp sting.

We wonder about the future of some young players and whether they're still part of the long range plans here. Specifically, we recently deliberated on the prospects of both Erik Brannstrom and Egor Sokolov.

At the NHL trade deadline of 2019, Ottawa Senators fans watched the club trade away Mark Stone, Matt Duchene, and Ryan Dzingel for pieces that were supposed to help the rebuild. Imagine the fury back then if fans knew exactly how little they would have to show for those deals five years later?

We examined draft philosophy and whether the Senators should take the best player available, regardless of position, or draft for what the roster needs.
