The Swedish goalie spent five seasons in the Senators organization before returning to Sweden three years ago.

Craig Anderson is now four years removed from his time with the Ottawa Senators and the NHL club still hasn't managed to find a starter to properly replace him.
Marcus Hogberg took a stab at it, but after five seasons in the organization, he headed back to Sweden three years ago when GM Pierre Dorion decided not to extend a qualifying offer.
“We have the quality and quantity in our goaltending," Dorion said at the time, in a quote that's aged poorly.
So Hogberg signed a four-year deal with Linkoping HC, the team he was playing for in junior when Ottawa drafted him in 2013. Hogberg was one of the top goalies in the SHL when he moved to Ottawa in 2017. And with a save percentage of .914 this season, he's back in that discussion again.
On Friday, Linkoping announced that Hogberg is going to give the NHL another try next season.
According to the club, Hogberg has agreed to terms with an NHL team but the actual team was not disclosed (May 7th, 2024, update: Hogberg agreed to terms on a two year deal with the Islanders).
Translated from Swedish, Hogberg told the team website that he was pleased to be giving the NHL another go.
"Of course, it feels good to get this chance again. I wasn't really prepared for something like this to (come along), but I'm very happy and excited to test my wings (in the NHL) again," Hogberg said.
Hogberg appeared in 42 games for the Senators posting a 9-17-9 record and a .894 save percentage.
