Sens prospect Jorian Donovan gets a second chance for Team Canada at the World Juniors.

Ottawa Senators prospect Jorian Donovan has been added to Canada’s roster for the World Junior Hockey Championships in Sweden. Donovan is the son of former NHLer Shean Donovan, who now works for the Sens in player development.

The younger Donovan was originally released by the team but Canada has run into injury troubles on the blue line. Hockey Canada announced on X today that Tanner Molendyk and Tristan Luneau will not participate. Molendyk suffered an injury and Luneau is dealing with a viral infection. Ty Nelson was also a late addition to the squad.

Donovan was paired today with Oliver Bonk, the son of another former Senator, Radek Bonk.

Donovan was drafted by the Senators in the fifth round, 136th overall. He has 21 points in 31 games with the OHL's Hamilton Bulldogs this season. He had an assist in Canada's 6-5 overtime loss to the Americans in exhibition action Saturday.
