Former Flyers assistant coach John Torchetti was recently named head coach, president and director of hockey operations of USHL powerhouse Tri-City Americans.
Torchetti, 61, was hired by Alain Vigneault and the Flyers during the 2021-22 season, spending one lone season in Philadelphia.
The Boston, Ma., native also coached with former Flyers head coach John Tortorella and ex-interim head coach Brad Shaw on the 1999-00 and 2000-01 Tampa Bay Lightning teams.
Have the Flyers torn through too many coaches in recent seasons, or is pivoting to Rick Tocchet the right move?
