The Philadelphia Flyers are gearing up for what should be a busy off-season. The Metropolitan Division club should be looking to add talent to their roster, especially if they have the potential to benefit them in the long term.

When looking at potential trade targets around the NHL, the Buffalo Sabres have two interesting names who the Flyers should seriously consider pursuing. Let's discuss each of them now.

    Bowen Byram

Bowen Byram has created chatter as a trade candidate since this season, and it has only been picking up since. He is a pending restricted free agent, and he could be a player the Sabres are willing to part ways with for the right price. With the Flyers' blueline needing help, the 23-year-old Byram could be a major pickup for them.

If the Flyers acquired Byram, he would instantly become their best left-shot defenseman and would be an obvious choice for both their power play and penalty kill. In 82 games this season with the Sabres, the 6-foot-1 defenseman scored seven goals and set new career highs with 31 assists and 38 points.

    JJ Peterka

Like Byram, Peterka is a pending restricted free agent who has been in the rumor mill often. With Peterka being just 23 years old and showing signs of becoming a star, he is another Sabre who the Flyers should seriously consider pursuing, even if it means moving out one of their other notable wingers.

Peterka took a major step forward this season with the Sabres, too, scoring 27 goals and hitting new career highs with 41 assists and 68 points in 77 games. With numbers like these, he would undoubtedly give the Flyers' top six and power play a major boost if brought in. This is especially so when noting that can play on either wing.
