Some thoughts on an incredibly chippy game between the Flyers and the Flames.

Tempers flared and fists flew at the Wells Fargo Center as the Philadelphia Flyers picked up a much-needed win against the Calgary Flames. It wasn't a pretty win, but it sure was an entertaining one. Here's what can be taken away from the victory.

More Shots Need to Start Turning Into Goals

The Flyers had chance after chance after chance in this game, and many of them should have been goals. Key word: should. It's a recurring issue that's becoming a serious concern. They're aggressive going forward, they're taking shots from a nice variety of angles and distances, but they just can't turn many of these good shots into good goals.

Sloppy passing and losing the puck cost the Flyers at least two or three goals in this game, and would've saved them from yet another late-game scramble to come out with a win.

There's a Brotherhood to Build On

The brawls speak for themselves. These Flyers, especially the young guys, have each other's backs no matter what. Joel Farabee had absolutely zero hesitation in defending Cam York after he got hit hard from behind. Bobby Brink was throwing punches in front of the goal after a melee scoring chance. Every player on the ice wanted to get involved, and that speaks volumes about this team chemistry. There are plenty of problems the Flyers need to deal with, but the clear brotherhood and respect that they have provides the best foundation one could ask for to address those problems.

Morgan Frost Is So Back

Morgan Frost's performance against the Flames was the perfect response to being healthy scratched against the Blue Jackets. He kicked off the scoring for the Flyers, then collected an assist on Sean Couturier's second period equalizer.

After initiating a conversation with John Tortorella to voice his own thoughts on being healthy scratched, Frost is walking the walk to not only show he wants to remain in this team, but that he deserves to remain in the lineup.

Bonus: Travis Konecny Is Amazing

Scored a beautiful shorthanded goal. Did some trademark TK shoving. This guy was made for Philadelphia.

The Flyers' next game will be against the Pittsburgh Penguins at home on Jan. 8 at 7 p.m.
