Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports - Flyers' John Tortorella Confronts Reporter

John Tortorella isn't the biggest fan of the media, and that has perhaps never been more on display than in his postgame conference after the Flyers nabbed a shootout win over the Montreal Canadiens.

The conference started out benign, with Tortorella mainly fielding questions about Jamie Drysdale's debut, when there was a sudden shift in his demeanor. As one reporter attempted to ask a question about Sam Ersson's performance, Tortorella interrupted to ask if the person who reported that Kevin Hayes influenced Cutter Gauthier to not come to the Flyers was present. The reporter, Anthony SanFilippo, was there and admitted he was the one that first put out the story.

And to say Tortorella laid into him would be putting it a bit too kindly.

"Are you kidding me?" Tortorella began. "You think Kevin Hayes is going to do something like that? It's [expletive]. It pisses me off that you guys throw that [expletive] around and it affects someone's life. What you said is going to stay with him. Don't say you have the right source. I call BS. Is that the podcast? The silly podcast you do?"

Tortorella went on to call Hayes "a good man" and praised his contributions to the Flyers during his four seasons in Philadelphia.

The confrontation was kept in the video the official Flyers account posted to their page, which many fans welcomed as a refreshing embracing of how united this organization is.
