On Thursday, Travis Konecny was one of 32 representatives named an NHL All-Star. In addition, the fans will vote for another 12 players over the following week. Toronto, Ontario, will play host to the festivities at Scotiabank Arena this year.

The NHL All-Star break will be from February 2nd to the 4th. Presenting the NHL Skill on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, and the NHL All-Star Game on Saturday, Feb. 3, it all kicks off with a celebration that will feature “NHL All-Star Thursday” on Feb. 1.

This will be Konecny's second All-Star appearance, and rightfully so. In 2020, he received the honour — 24 goals and 49 points in 45 games played at the break. This year he is back on track, providing elite goal-scorer talent. Leading the Flyers in scoring (18) and points (33) and is second in assists (15). Also providing with special teams, he is second in the league in shorthanded goals with four.

Despite each NHL club having to provide one representative, it would be to no one's surprise if Konecny were named unanimously across the league. He is currently riding a five-game point streak (2G, 5A, 7PTS) and has provided 10 points (2G, 8A) in his as many games.

He is pacing for 40 goals, 33 assists, and 73 points in 82 games, which would be a career in goals and points. With still a month to go until the All-Star events in Ontario, it will be interesting to see where Konecny is among the league's best.

    What's Better Than One?...Two!

Another Travis who may be in the running to be an NHL All-Star is Travis Sanheim. He could be a dark horse pick for the fans in voting. He leads the orange and black in assists with an astounding 21 apples in 36 games.

Sanheim is having a remarkable bounce-back year after hitting a downslope last year, with 23 points in 36 games and a negative plus-minus. He has already surpassed last year's numbers in assists (16) and is closing in on his goal marker (7).

Along with his productive point totals, he has provided very well defensively while leading the team in time on ice with 24:48 minutes a night, taking on a reliable role on the net front.
