The Flyers have already traded one of their top defensemen, and they may be looking to move another.

There's always a ton of movement during the NHL Draft, and the Philadelphia Flyers are apparently looking to get involved in the action.

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Flyers are "aggressively" looking to trade defenseman Travis Sanheim. However, teams don't seem to be crazy about the Flyers' ask.

A trade involving Sanheim would hardly be shocking. In fact, the Flyers reportedly came close to shipping him to the St. Louis Blues over the weekend as part of the Kevin Hayes trade. However, Sanheim's involvement in the trade was shut down after Blues defenseman Torey Krug opted not to waive his no-trade clause.

Sanheim is coming off a rough first season under head coach John Tortorella. The 27-year-old logged seven goals and 23 points in 81 games, and he was notably benched for a game against the Calgary Flames in February with many of his friends and family in attendance.

Sanheim admitted after the season that the scratching in Calgary, where he spent three years playing junior hockey, impacted him negatively.

"The scratching I think obviously hurt me, and probably something that I wasn't expecting, especially with where it was," Sanheim told the media during his exit interview.

"I think there are certain games throughout a year, it gets long. You circle some dates that are meaningful to you. Obviously, playing in that building for three years and having a lot of great memories there, I think it means a lot to play there. Not getting the chance obviously hurt. But like I said, I've moved on and gotten over it, and we're on the other side of that."

Flyers general manager Danny Briere has made it known throughout the offseason that no player on the Flyers' roster is safe. He already sent defenseman Ivan Provorov to the Columbus Blue Jackets as part of a three-team trade in early June, and he's been particularly candid about his desire to add another high draft pick to his arsenal.

A first-round pick may be too high a request for Sanheim, whose eight-year, $50 million contract hasn't even kicked in yet, but Briere hasn't been afraid to get creative since taking over as GM in March.

If Briere truly is serious about trading Sanheim, he'll likely need to pull the trigger before July 1, when Sanheim's no-trade clause goes into effect.
