The fact that Travis Konecny and Tate McRae are aware of each other is mind-blowing.
Travis Konecny, the Flyers' lone representative for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game, has officially been drafted to Team MacKinnon for Saturday's matchup in Toronto.
To kick off the All-Star festivities, a player draft was held amongst the four teams and their captains. Konecny, who also was named an All-Star in 2020, was picked up by the team led by Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon, Avalanche defenseman and alternate captain Cale Makar, and singer Tate McRae, who serves as the team's "celebrity captain."
Konecny joins a stacked team, including Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, Canucks forward Elias Lindholm, Capitals forward Tom Wilson, and Avalanche goalie Alexandar Georgiev, among others.
The All-Star weekend will continue with the All-Star Skills Competition (of which Konecny will not be participating) on Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. EST, and will conclude with the actual All-Star Game on Feb. 3 at 3 p.m.
