One of the Flyers' top prospects turned some heads in the Phantoms' win over Charlotte.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms played Game 1 of their playoff series against the Charlotte Checkers Tuesday night, taking down their division rival by a score of 4-3 at Bojangles Coliseum.

Tyson Foerster, one of the Philadelphia Flyers’ top prospects, put together a strong showing in his first appearance in an AHL playoff game.

Just 49 seconds into the game’s middle period, Foerster scored a beauty to break the 1-1 tie. After darting into the offensive zone, Foerster pulled off a gorgeous toe drag around Checkers defenseman Santtu Kinnunen and beat goaltender Mack Guzda with a laser from the high slot.

Minutes later, Foerster scored his second goal of the night with a wrister off the faceoff. Guzda stopped a chunk of the shot, but not enough to keep it from trickling past the goal line.

Adam Brooks and Cooper Marody also netted markers in the contest.

Foerster, selected in the first round (No. 23 overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, has had an impressive season between Lehigh Valley and his short stint with the Flyers. He logged 20 goals and 48 points for the Phantoms during the regular season, and posted seven points in eight games with the Flyers.

The Phantoms and Checkers will square off for Game 2 Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET.
