It sure hasn't been an easy calendar year for the Canadian Men's hockey team, who were defeated in the IIHF World Championship semifinal by Finland, 4-2, on Saturday.

This loss follows a silver medal finish at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, a bronze medal at the World Junior Championship, and a non-medal at last year's World Championship after an upset by Denmark in the quarterfinal round.

Canada will play Norway for Bronze on Sunday.

Has team Canada underachieved internationally recently, or is it a matter of other countries catching up?
