Sidney Crosby is the lone representative of the Pittsburgh Penguins at the NHL All-Star Game, and he may have played a part in the highlight of the weekend.
The Penguins captain teamed up with rival Alex Ovechkin during the Breakaway Challenge at the Skills Competition and provided a wholesome moment.
Crosby and Ovechkin both hinted that they had something in store when it was announced that they would be joining forces for the challenge, but neither revealed their plans.
After a quick interview with former All-Star P.K. Subban, Ovechkin invited his son, Sergei to the ice to take part in the breakaway.
The Ovechkin’s and Crosby skated in on Hall of Famer Roberto Luongo and of course the puck was left for Sergei to finish of with a goal.
Overall, the Skills Competition was an absolute snooze fest, but at least a pair of the biggest names in the game brought the entertainment.
4-year-old Sergei stole the show and received a perfect score of 40 from the celebrity judges.
The trio of Crosby, Sergei, and Alex came out as winners of the Breakaway Challenge over Mitch Marner impersonating Miami Vice and David Pastrnak as Happy Gilmore.
The win in the contest may have come from questionable judging, but it was an appropriate response to a dreadful event.
