It wouldn't be the first time the Pittsburgh Penguins and Anaheim Ducks made moves together.

For the second straight season, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Anaheim Ducks may become trade partners before the NHL trade deadline.

Recently, the Penguins sent professional scouts to a Ducks contest against the Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim again has some interesting pieces that could be on the move.

The Ducks are one of the worst teams in the NHL and have multiple players they are looking to cast off prior to the deadline.

Some of those players might look appealing to Ron Hextall and the Penguins who are in need of a depth shake up.

Hextall made a move to acquire Rickard Rakell from the Ducks last season, and surely still has Anaheim’s number in his phone as they become sellers.

Veteran center Adam Henrique is the mot recent option to catch the eye of the Penguins fan base, as his underlying numbers jump off the page.

According to a player card from JFresh, Henrique’s projected WAR% stands at 83% and his offensive numbers stack up much better than the Penguins’ current options.

If the Penguins make the swing for Henrique, he would be the perfect player to slot in at third line center over Jeff Carter or Teddy Blueger.

The contract is steep, at $5.8 million for this season and next, but the Penguins have assets they could move to make the money work.

Another question surrounding the Penguins is their goaltending situation; is it possible they’re looking at the goalie market?

If they are, John Gibson is a name everyone in Pittsburgh will continue to turn to.

Gibson is a native of the city and has been in dire need of a good team in front of his for his talents to really shine.

The Ducks are also reportedly looking to offload defensemen John Klingberg and Dmitry Kulikov.

Those two wouldn’t quite fit with the Penguins and their current plans, but they are names to keep an eye on down the stretch.

The Penguins and Ducks have been trade partners even before Hextall’s arrival in Pittsburgh, could that continue in 2023?
