Pittsburgh Penguins' captain Sidney Crosby is already one of the greatest international hockey players of all time, as he has won the World Cup, a World Championship, the 4 Nations Face-off Championship, and two Olympic gold medals.
And, now, he has added to the laundry list in his already-illustrious career donning the Canadian maple leaf.
With his first two points in Canada's 10-2 win over France on Sunday, Crosby tied (14) then broke (15) Team Canada's all-time points record for Olympic games featuring NHL players, which was previously held by Jarome Iginla, who had a 20-year NHL career and appeared in three Olympic games.
Crosby also registered a goal later in the game, giving him three points against France and six over the three preliminary-round games for Canada, which ties him for second overall in tournament points. Only teammate Connor McDavid (nine) has more. The 38-year-old captain for Team Canada is in his third Olympic games, and he has won Gold at both of his prior games in Vancouver (2010) and Sochi (2014).
With their 10-2 win over France, Team Canada clinched the first overall seeding, which guarantees them a spot in the quarterfinal round along with Team USA, Team Finland, and Team Slovakia.
