There appears to be a family reunion on the horizon for a pair of Pittsburgh Penguins prospects.
With the 105th pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, the Penguins selected Travis Hayes out of GM and POHO Kyle Dubas's former team in the Soo Greyhounds. Hayes is the younger brother of Penguins' forward prospect Avery Hayes, who has steadily climbed the ranks in the Penguins' system.
In 65 games with the Greyhounds this season, Travis registered 21 goals and 51 points. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound right wing plays a lot like his brother, too, as he drives the net, forces turnovers, is a puck hound, and has some finishing ability.
Avery put up 23 goals and 42 points in 60 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton - Pittsburgh's AHL affiliate - and earned himself a two-year entry-level contract at the conclusion of the regular season.
