It appears a family reunion is in order for the Ruck family in Pittsburgh.
On Friday, the Pittsburgh Penguins selected forward Liam Ruck with their 22nd overall pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft, and many - including Liam - were waiting in anticipation to see if Pittsburgh would also select the right wing's twins brother, Markus, with their 39th overall pick in the draft.
And that became a reality during Day Two on Saturday, when Penguins' GM and POHO Kyle Dubas and the rest of the Penguins' front office staff elected to do just that, reuniting the brothers and ensuring the twins will play together in the same organization for the foreseeable future.
"Nervous and just praying," Markus said about the anticipation heading into Day Two. "I was definitely nervous. I was just hoping Pittsburgh would get me, and to have it happen now, it's so special. There's just not much words to describe it. Me and my family are just so happy and thankful for Pittsburgh."
Both brothers played for the Medicine Hat Tigers last season, finishing first and second in WHL scoring - Markus finished with 21 goals and 108 points, while Liam had 45 goals and 104 points. They are both committed to the University of North Dakota for the 2027-28 season.
The Penguins will next select at 54th overall.
