Charles LeClaire - Imagn Images - Fast Fact Friday: Get To Know Defenseman Ryan Graves

On Fridays during the 2024-25 season, The Hockey News - Pittsburgh will spotlight a Penguins' player through a rapid-fire Q&A session using "get-to-know" questions.

This week, I sat down with Penguins' second-year defenseman Ryan Graves, who signed a six-year deal with the Penguins during the summer of 2023:

    Favorite pizza topping: Pineapple.

    Favorite food: Pasta.

Favorite book: American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road

    Favorite snack: Yogurt.

Favorite horror movie: That's a good question. Sinister, that's a good one.

Best costume from Halloween: We were The Hulk a few years ago. That was good, we did, like, the body paint. That's a good one.

Go-to karaoke song: "Party for Two" by Shania Twain.

Follow-up: Do you have a regular duet partner for that? No, no I don't. Someone has to sub in. Ask Petey!

Adult beverage of choice: Cold beer.

Song you can't get out of your head right now: All my songs are baby songs right now! Actually, Taylor Swift's "Willow" puts my daughter to sleep. I hear that song, like, 25 times a day. So, I could sing that song right now if I had to.

What's your favorite hobby off the ice? Golf.

Follow-up: Are you a good golfer? I mean, I'm not going pro, that's for sure. But yeah, I'm not bad. Like, a 3-handicap-ish, so...

Follow-up #2: Can you beat Sid? Oh, I can beat Sid. Oh yeah. Any day.

How do you get your steak done? Medium-rare. I like rare, too. If I had to pick between medium and rare, I'd pick rare.

    Fruits or veggies? Fruits.

Are you a morning or a night person? Night.

    Dogs or cats? Dogs.

Are you a late or an early arriver? I'm always on the verge of being late.

    Coffee or tea? Coffee, definitely.

Street hockey or mini sticks? Street hockey.
