The Arizona Cardinals are looking for some good mojo as their quarterback dons a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey in Philadelphia.
The Arizona Cardinals won’t have an easy day against the Philadelphia Eagles, but quarterback Kyler Murray might know which strings to pull to get into the heads of the Philadelphia faithful.
Murray showed up to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia wearing a black Pittsburgh Penguins jersey.
It wasn’t just any Penguins’ jersey either, as on the back was Sidney Crosby’s number 87.
It may not be the same sport, but Crosby is one of the most hated athletes in Philadelphia due in part to his years of success over the Philadelphia Flyers.
In 85 games against the Flyers, Crosby has recorded 125 total points split between 54 goals and 71 assists.
Crosby’s 125 points stands as the most by any single player against the Flyers franchise.
Murray and the Cardinals have lost hope for a playoff run sitting with a 3-12 record, but they look to play spoiler against the 11-4 Eagles.
Maybe Murray can hone some of Crosby’s energy in Philadelphia and find an extra level to his game.
If nothing else, Murray should hear a few rounds of jeers when he's on the field.
One of the Cardinals' wins this season came in Pittsburgh with a 24-10 beatdown against the Steelers.
Murray threw for 145 yards and a touchdown in that game, and will look to continue a good trend of play in the state of Pennsylvania.
