On Friday night at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH, Pittsburgh Penguins forward Anthony Beauvillier scored a first-period goal assisted by Sidney Crosby

Although the lamplighter didn't lead to a standing ovation for the Penguins captain, the helper did move him into a tie with Joe Sakic for 13th place on the NHL's all-time assist list.

Moreover, Crosby's 1,016th assist is also the sixth-most by a player with a single franchise.

Next on the assists list is his former boss, landlord, and teammate Mario Lemieux, who had 1,033 for his career. Once Crosby catches No. 66, he'll become the Penguins' all-time leader.

After Lemieux, the next Hall of Famer to pass is Steve Yzerman, who recorded 1,063 assists with the Detroit Red Wings.

Regarding Crosby's climb up the NHL leaderboard, once he ties Lemieux, he'll be seven behind Marcel Dionne (1,040) and 16 behind Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe (1,049).
