The Pittsburgh Penguins drafted Chase Yoder in the sixth round (170th overall) at the 2020 Entry Draft and have yet to sign him to a contract.
The young center's rights will expire on Aug. 15, 2024, giving the organization less than a month to sign the 22-year-old.
Since being drafted, Yoder has skated at Providence College, serving as captain his senior year in 2023-24.
After advancing through the U.S. National Team Development Program, he skated 135 games in the NCAA, collecting 27 goals and 42 points.
According to Yoder's Elite Prospects profile, he is not committed to any team for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Chase is the only sibling in his family to have been selected by an NHL team. Jordan and Peyton went undrafted and no longer play hockey.
Meanwhile, prospect Kasper Bjorkqvist, selected in the second round (61st overall) at the 2016 Entry Draft, went unsigned, with a cut-off date of July 10.
Unlike Yoder, he looks to continue playing professionally in Finland with Ilves in Liiga.
