On Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced their 2024-25 regular season schedule.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will kick off their 57th season with a matchup with the New York Rangers on Oct. 9 at 7:30 PM at PPG Paints Arena.
Interestingly, the tilt with the Blueshirts will be only one of two Metropolitan Division matchups in the first month.
The Carolina Hurricanes will visit on Oct. 18 before the Penguins head out on their annual Western Canada trip through Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver from Oct. 20 to 26.
When Pittsburgh returns home, they close out the month with a visit from Marc-Andre Fleury (Minnesota Wild) on Oct. 29.
In the next block of schedule, the Penguins will have a back-to-back contest for five consecutive weeks, featuring the following matchups:
After that stretch, Pittsburgh will not have to play consecutive games until January. Still, they will have a marquee matchup every Saturday in December with matchups against Toronto, Ottawa, New Jersey, and the New York Islanders.
In the New Year, the Penguins will earn plenty of frequent flyer miles with only five home games and nine away games. They will also make another West Coast trip from Jan. 20 to 29, stopping in Los Angeles, Anaheim, Seattle, San Jose, and Utah.
Eight games are scheduled in February, seven against Metropolitan Divisional opponents sandwiched around the NHL's Four Nations Cup.
Finally, Pittsburgh will head into the stretch drive with a busy March, packed with 14 games, eight at home and six on the road. This particular time in the schedule will be a critical point in the season, with only five games against the Western Conference.
Over the season's final three weeks, the Penguins will play only seven games, with their final back-to-back on Apr. 5 and 6 on the road against Dallas and Chicago.
The regular season concludes on Apr. 17 at home against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
