The Pittsburgh Penguins will celebrate WWE night on Tuesday at PPG Paints Arena.
The Pittsburgh Penguins play the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night in one of the season's most highly anticipated theme nights: WWE Night.
As hardcore fans and even casual ones know, World Wrestling Entertainment is one of the leading wrestling promotions in the world. It has only expanded its reach after being purchased by Endeavor Group Holdings and merged with UFC under the TKO banner.
Tonight, Penguins fans will get a chance to celebrate two loves: pro hockey and pro wrestling, featuring an appearance by WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker.
Even though Bron is from Georgia, he is an up-and-coming star from the famous "Steiner family," who are WWE Hall of Famers and multi-time tag team champions.
Despite no local legends slated to attend, Pittsburgh's connection to the WWE runs deep. The Civic Arena hosted the 1995 Summerslam, and PPG Paints Arena hosted the Royal Rumble in 2014, two of the promotion's top four yearly events.
Meanwhile, no one will forget the night The Undertaker threw Mankind (Mick Foley) off the Hell in a Cell cage at the Badd Blood pay-per-view on June 28, 1998, one of the company's most shocking and talked-about moments.

Moreover, Olympic gold medalist, former WWE champion, and Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is from Mt. Lebanon, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh. Angle won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympics with a broken neck. Once he recovered, he joined WWE and became one of the company's quickest World Champions.
Angle is considered one of the best wrestlers of all time. He was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame thanks to his numerous college and pro wrestling accomplishments. USA Wrestling ranked him as one of the top 15 college wrestlers.
During his WWE career, Angle had the opportunity to win the WWE title in front of friends and family on Sept. 23, 2001, at Mellon Arena.
On top of hosting numerous Monday Night Raw and Smackdown events, the Civic Arena/Mellon Arena hosted six WWE pay-per-views:
After the last Monday Night Raw at Mellon Arena on May 10, 2010, PPG Paints Arena took over hosting duties and has been home to four pay-per-views so far:
Unlike several other teams that present wrestling belts to their player of the games, the Penguins provide their winner with a custom race car helmet.
Despite the lack of championship wrestling belts in the dressing room, Pittsburgh doesn't need a belt to celebrate its deep connections to the WWE, which they will do with the fans on Tuesday night.
