Penguins captain reaches yet another milestone for his storied NHL career
Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has, seemingly, been reaching major milestones and breaking records on a weekly basis.
And he reached another one during Tuesday's divisional tilt against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
With a second-period faceoff win - the 15,183rd of his career - Crosby surpassed former Boston Bruins superstar Patrice Bergeron for the most faceoff wins in NHL history since the NHL started tracking in 1997.
Crosby went into Tuesday's game with 15,179 faceoff wins. According to Penguins historian Bob Grove, he had won more than 50 percent of his draws in 14 of the prior 16 games against Columbus.
Up to the point Crosby had broken the record, he had won just three of 13 draws during the contest.
