Almost a month ago, the Pittsburgh Penguins prospect was stretchered off of the ice with what looked like a head or neck injury.
Just shy of a month after Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Filip Hallander suffered a scary neck injury that cut a game short, he returned to game action.
Hallander returned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins lineup for the first time since Jan. 6, in a 3-2 loss to the Springfield Thunderbirds.
During that Jan. 6 contest against the Charlotte Checkers, Hallander took an awkward fall, landing on his head and forcing him to be hospitalized.
Hallander was released from the hospital within a day and was with his team within a month.
The WBS Penguins played 10 games without Hallander as he recovered from the undisclosed injury.
The initial injury occurred just four days after the Damar Hamlin incident occurred with the Buffalo Bills.
It’s rare to see one game get cut short due to a player’s health, let alone two within a week no matter the league.
In 27 games with played with WBS this season, Hallander has scored 25 points (8G-17A) and had a two-game stint in the NHL with no points recorded.
