As the Pittsburgh Penguins get ready to return from their week off, they do so following the recall of their third string goalie.
Dustin Tokarski was recalled to the Penguins on an emergency basis.
Prior to the team’s bye week, it was announced that starting goalie Tristan Jarry would be out until following the All-Star break.
This recalls begs the question of what exactly is going on with Jarry’s status; is Tokarski getting called up because Jarry isn’t ready?
That’s what it seems as the team returns to Pittsburgh for practices on Sunday and Monday.
Tokarski has played in two games this season with the NHL Penguins with one start and a 1-1-0 record.
Most of Tokarski’s season has been spent in the AHL with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins where he holds a record of 9-7-4.
