The Pittsburgh Penguins just announced a new partnership with Coca-Cola, so what about the fans who prefer Pepsi?
If you are headed to a Pittsburgh Penguins game or event at PPG Paints Arena and UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in the fall, get ready to see a lot of red mixed in with black and gold.
The concourse and seats won't be littered with Detroit Red Wings apparel. Instead, Coca-Cola's iconic logo will be on every cup, appear in promotional materials, and be featured on every corner.
The Penguins announced that they had secured a partnership with ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages, the local distributor of Coca-Cola, to be the official beverage provider in their facilities.
Besides being the official soft drink of choice for fans, the company will be featured during in-game promotions, giveaways, and more, including re-branding the 200 level.
As one of the leading brands in the world, the Penguins hit a home run with this partnership since Coca-Cola products will complement the food and beverage options available to fans who attend events and games.
By bringing in Coca-Cola products, the two Pittsburgh facilities will reignite the age-old debate of which product is better, Coke or Pepsi.
For years, the red and blue brands have divided the general public. People either drink Coke or Pepsi, but not that many people in the middle enjoy both.
Considering their historic profits over the decades, both companies have acquired their competitors and incorporated those brands under their umbrella.
Even though Pepsi fans will now have to drink Coke products every time they step into PPG Paints Arena, the red brand is active in the community. Its reputation is known worldwide and will enhance the Penguins brand during this new partnership.
