Initially drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fourth round (121st overall) of the 2015 Entry Draft, Shea finally broke through and made it into the NHL last year after three seasons in the AHL with the Texas Stars.

The Northeastern University alums played four years in the NCAA before suiting up with the Stars in 2020-21. Last season, Shea split time between Pittsburgh (31 games) and Wilkes-Barre (23 games). Overall, he scored seven points with three goals and four assists.
