Ryan Poehling has been back and forth in the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup with an upper-body injury.

If this season has shown us anything, it has shown us that the Pittsburgh Penguins need to pay Tristan Jarry.

Ryan Poehling was a last second scratch from the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup against the San Jose Sharks and Drew O’Connor slotting into the position.

Following the Penguins win, head coach Mike Sullivan stated that Poehling was taken out of the lineup due to a lingering upper-body injury.

Poehling suffered the initial injury in late December and has been back and forth in the lineup ever since.

Sullivan said that the nagging injury has been with him ever since and Poehling just didn’t feel good to go against the Sharks.

Poehling has only played in eight games since his initial move to injured reserve and has scored a goal and two assists for three points.

The Penguins have struggled to stay healthy for long stretches this season and while Poehling isn’t a star on the team, he’s an important cog in the bottom six.

The bottom two lines have largely struggled this year, and Poheling has emerged as a solid Teddy Blueger replacement if his time in Pittsburgh is up.
