The Pittsburgh Penguins had a near-perfect week helped along by their captain Sidney Crosby.
PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and a large part of that can be attributed to the work put in by Sidney Crosby.
The NHL recognized Crosby’s efforts for the Penguins and awarded him the Second Star of the Week for the week of March 6.
In that time, Crosby played four games and recorded seven points (2G-5A); both of his goals were game winners.
The Penguins didn’t lose in regulation during the week going 3-0-1 defeating Metropolitan Division rivals in the New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, and Columbus Blue Jackets.
Crosby had a ton of help from Jason Zucker along the way who scored five goals in those same four games.
On the season, Crosby has appeared in all 66 of the Penguins’ contests recording 29 goals and 51 assists for 80 points.
Clayton Keller of the Arizona Coyotes was awarded the NHL’s Frist Star of the Week with nine points in four games, and Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs was given the third star for six points in two games.
