After being defeated 7-3 in their preseason opener in Buffalo on Saturday, Pittsburgh will look to exact revenge Tuesday night.
The Penguins will take on the Sabres at PPG Paints Arena tonight at 7:00 PM ET, and this time around, both teams will feature a prospect-centered lineup. On Saturday, Buffalo iced much of its presumed NHL roster, but that will not be the case tonight.
The Penguins' lineup will feature many of the same prospects and new faces it did the first time around, and it has a couple of different NHL names in the lineup. However, akin to Saturday, it is still a prospect-focused lineup.
Here were the Penguins' lines and pairings at the morning skate:
Forwards
Rutger McGroarty-Kevin Hayes-Cody Glass
Anthony Beauvillier-Blake Lizotte-Noel Acciari
Jonathan Gruden-Sam Poulin-Avery Hayes
Bokondji Imama-Joona Koppanen-Marc Johnstone
Defense
Ryan Graves-Jack St. Ivany
Ryan Shea-Sebastian Aho
Owen Pickering-Filip Kral
Howe-Brunicke (rotating in)
Goaltenders
Joel Blomqvist, Alex Nedeljkovic
Glass and McGroarty remain together on a line, and the defense pairing of Ryan Graves and Jack St. Ivany will once again be the top pairing on the night.
The Penguins' lineup features a few more presumed NHL forwards in Lizotte, Acciari, Beauvillier, and K. Hayes. The only prospect carryovers from the first preseason lineup are McGroarty, A. Hayes, and, potentially, Howe.
However, based on the morning skate lineups, it appears that Howe will be one of the extras for tonight.
