Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby entered the 2024-25 season with 592 goals, needing only eight more to join the exclusive 600-goal club.
Crosby scored his 600th career goal on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, against Karel Vejmelka and the Utah Hockey Club at PPG Paints Arena.
He became the second player in Penguins history to score 600 goals with the club, following in the footsteps of Mario Lemieux.
With the milestone goal, Crosby helped Pittsburgh become the only expansion team with two 600-goal scorers and the only franchise besides the Montreal Canadiens to achieve the feat.
As the second-best scorer in Penguins history, Crosby signed a two-year extension to remain with the club through the 2026-27 season, meaning he's got a chance to surpass Mario Lemieux in goals (690) and points (1,723).

Crosby became the 21st player in NHL history to net 600 goals and remains one goal shy of Hall of Famer Jari Kurri, who tallied 601 in his career for 20th on the all-time list.

Lemieux owns the Penguins franchise record with 690 goals, which he achieved in 915 games from 1984 to 1997 and 2000 to 2005. His career goal per game average of 0.75 ranks second all-time behind Mike Bossy (0.76), while his 1.88 points per game average ranks second behind only Wayne Gretzky (1.92).
