Social Media Wastes No Time Proposing Sidney Crosby Trade

After Monday's blowout loss to the Dallas Stars, many social media personalities have already started discussing trading Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby.

On Monday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins were embarrassed on home ice by the Dallas Stars 7-1. Unfortunately, the game was out of reach after just 20 minutes, with the Penguins falling behind 6-0 and the visitors recording only 12 shots on goal.

Following the loss, several prominent hockey analysts took to social media to express their feelings that the Penguins captain should be traded to the Colorado Avalanche to skate alongside his best friend and reigning Hart Trophy winner, Nathan MacKinnon.

First, former Pittsburgh player and Spittin' Chiclets host Paul Bissonette shared his desire to see his old teammate in new threads.

Then, Spittin' Chiclets retweeted Bissionette's post and uploaded a photo of MacKinnon and Crosby at the recent 2024 All-Star Game.

However, it didn't stop there, as former NHLer and Spittin' Chiclets host Ryan Whitney asked a simple question about when the Penguins should make a drastic change. The responses to his tweet range from firing Mike Sullivan to many replies mentioning Crosby traded to this team or that team.

Overall, Monday night was rough for the Penguins' players and fanbase. Thankfully, no one has time to sit on this one loss since Pittsburgh plays again on Wednesday against the Detroit Red Wings.

Considering Crosby just signed a two-year extension that makes him a Penguin until 2027, it's a safe bet that the captain isn't getting traded anytime soon, despite what people on social media want.
