The Pittsburgh Penguins had to make a last-second switch in net and a new defender will not yet make his debut.

Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Ron Hextall could be on shaky ground after this season, but could Mike Sullivan be his replacement?

In their first game following the trade deadline, the Pittsburgh Penguins will have Casey DeSmith starting in goal against the Florida Panthers.

According Mike Sullivan, Tristan Jarry is feeling a little under the weather and will not be the Penguins’ starting goalie.

Jarry was scheduled to perform as the starting goalie, but the coaching staff made that switch.

Jarry will, however, serve as the backup behind DeSmith who will be making his 28th start of the season.

In 29 previous appearances, DeSmith has picked up a record of 11-12-4 and holds a .904 save percentage.

Sullivan also stated that newly acquired defenseman Dmitry Kulikov will not be with the team in Florida.

Kulikov is set to meet the rest of the team back in Pittsburgh.

Nick Bonino is returning to the Penguins organization and Sullivan knows the kind of help he will be both on and off the ice.
