Date Set for Penguins and Drew O’Connor Arbitration Hearing

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Drew O'Connor are scheduled for arbitration on August 4.

If the NHL hadn't expanded in 2017 or 2021, what would the Penguins goaltending situation look like today?

After receiving a qualifying offer from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Drew O’Connor was one of 22 players across the NHL to file for an arbitration hearing.

The Penguins forward played his first full season in the NHL during the 2022-23 season recording 11 points (5G-6A) in 46 games.

After releasing the names of each player that filed for arbitration, the NHLPA recently put out the dates for each hearing.

O’Connor’s salary arbitration date is set for August 4, the last day on hearings set by the NHLPA.

The Penguins will have an opportunity to avoid arbitration if the two sides strike a deal before the August 4 hearing.

If the arbitration case takes place, the Penguins will be gifted a second buyout window that will last for 72 hours following the conclusion of the hearing.
