Pittsburgh Penguins' new assistant coach David Quinn was named to Team USA's 4 Nations Face-Off coaching staff on Wednesday, USA Hockey announced:

Quinn, who was named as an assistant coach for the Penguins earlier this summer, was previously the head coach for the New York Rangers and the San Jose Sharks. He also has extensive experience with USA Hockey, as he was the head coach for the 2022 and 2023 Men's National Teams and was supposed to be the head coach for the 2022 Men's Olympic Team. He's also had several assistant coaching roles with USA Hockey.

He will join Penguins' head coach Mike Sullivan, who was named head coach of Team USA for both the 4 Nations Face-Off and the 2026 Olympics back in May, Flyers' head coach John Tortorella, and Minnesota Wild head coach and former Wilkes Barre-Scranton (WBS) coach John Hynes on the coaching staff.

Between Sullivan, Quinn, Hynes, general manager Bill Guerin, and assistant general manager Tom Fitzgerald, there are five executives or coaches who have been part of the Penguins' organization at some point during their coaching/management careers. Chris Kelleher, an assistant GM, also played for the WBS Penguins from 1999-2001.

The 4 Nations Face-Off will take place in Boston and Montreal between February 12-20, 2025. Captain Sidney Crosby (Canada) and defenseman Erik Karlsson (Sweden) have already been named as two of the first 24 players named to the tournament between the four teams - USA, Canada, Sweden, and Finland.
