The Pittsburgh Penguins have more than just NHL level stars set to play at the World Championship.
More than just players from the NHL roster, the Pittsburgh Penguins have a member of their minor league system heading to the IIHF World Championship.
Forward Justin Addamo spent the 2022-23 season in the Penguins system bouncing between the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Sranton Penguins and the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.
Prior to joining the organization, Addamo played three seasons with Robert Morris University.
Being a native of Clermon-Ferrand, Addamo will represent Team France at the World Championship.
Addamo spent a majority of the 2022-23 season in Wheeling where he played 42 games and recorded 33 points (21G-12A).
During his stint with the WBS Penguins, Addamo put up five goals in 14 games.
Addamo is a 6-foot-6, 24-year-old winger who has earned his position in the organization.
His efforts in the back half of the year with WBS fetched him an AHL contract for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Addamo joins Alex Nylander (Sweden), Casey DeSmith (USA), Nick Bonino (USA), Drew O’Connor (USA), and P.O. Joseph (Canada) as members of the Penguins organization playing at the World Championship.
