Penguins To Dress Stars in Preseason Game Against Sabres

The Pittsburgh Penguins will see their stars in action for the first time this preseason.

Erik Karlsson discusses the Pittsburgh Penguins top power play unit, and how that group is looking to find an identity early in the preseason.

For the first three games of the preseason, the Pittsburgh Penguins sported lineups featuring mostly depth options and players fighting for roles in the NHL.

Heading into their fourth exhibition game, the Penguins will finally trot out a lineup that sees some household names.

Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang will all suit up and take the ice for the first time this preseason, as well as the much anticipated first look at Erik Karlsson.

Alex Nedeljkovic has appeared in a pair of preseason games already and will remain in the lineup against the Buffalo Sabres, but as the backup.

Tristan Jarry will likely see his first action since the end of the 2022-23 season.

Despite the big names all over the lineup, there are still a couple of faces that are fighting for roles and have a special opportunity this time around.

Austin Wagner is in Pittsburgh with a professional tryout offer and he will get another crack in game action.

Ryan Shea is likely going to start the season in the AHL, but can has an opportunity to show his worth if he laces up against the Sabres.

Radim Zohorna has impressed many this training camp, and will look to continue that trend with his third preseason game of the year.

The rosters and chances to make the lineup are getting thinner, and soon enough the puck will drop on the Penguins regular season.
