The Pittsburgh Penguins return to a normal lineup formation despite no Ryan Poehling or Mark Friedman.
Despite taking a morning skate and warmups with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Ryan Poehling will miss his second consecutive game with an upper-body injury.
Poehling was a last second scratch from the Penguins lineup in Boston for the Winter Classic after taking in practice the night before at Fenway Park.
It was also announced the defenseman Mark Friedman will be out of the lineup against the Vegas Golden Knights.
With the last second scratch of Poehling and the return of Chad Ruhwedel, the Penguins played the Winter Classic with 11 forwards and seven defensemen.
Drew O’Connor was an available option at Fenway, but he was not given the lineup spot.
The Penguins have gone back to a normal 12 forward, six defensemen set with the scratch to Friedman.
O’Connor will make his return to the lineup filling in for Poehling against the Golden Knights.
