One of the Pittsburgh Penguins top prospects is ready to return after a three-month leave of absence.
PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Sam Poulin announced via Instagram that he is ready to return to the Pittsburgh Penguins organization after taking a personal leave of absence.
In Early-December of 2022, the Penguins stated that Poulin would be stepping away from hockey and returning home to focus on his mental health.
There was no timetable given to when/if Poulin would return, but he continued workouts on and off the ice.
After a little over three months away, Poulin says he’s ready to return to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
In Poulin’s message, he thanked his family, friends, the Penguins organization, the fans, and many others and encouraged everyone to speak openly about mental health.
Poulin will return to action with the WBS Penguins to continue his professional hockey career.
Early in the 2022-23 season, Poulin made his NHL debut and recorded an assist in his first of three games.
