At long last, the Pittsburgh Penguins might have their starting goalie back in the fold.

If this season has shown us anything, it has shown us that the Pittsburgh Penguins need to pay Tristan Jarry.

Despite joining the Pittsburgh Penguins on their trip to California, Tristan Jarry is yet to return to the lineup due to another injury.

Thanks to certain uncertainties with Jarry, the Penguins were forced to start Casey DeSmith in back-to-back nights.

DeSmith didn’t make it out of the second period in the second game thanks to an onslaught from the Los Angeles Kings.

Before heading to San Jose to take on the Sharks, the Penguins had one last practice in Southern California and Jarry was getting his fair share of work.

Jarry owning a net to himself and appeared mobile and close to 100%.

Head coach Mike Sullivan said following the practice that Jarry is still day-to-day, but said there’s a possibility he plays against the Sharks.

If Jarry does return, it will be his third contest since suffering his initial injury during the Winter Classic on January 2.

The Penguins have gone 7-5-3 in the games following the Winter Classic, and Jarry was 1-0-1 in his pair of appearances.

When healthy and in the lineup, Jarry is one of the best goalies in the NHL and has the numbers to back it up.

Through 27 starts in 2022-23, Jarry is 16-5-5 with a .921 save percentage.

The Penguins are clinging to a playoff spot and will need a fully healthy Jarry to help push them over the edge in terms of consistent wins.
