On Monday, the team announced it had agreed to terms with Daniel Laatsch, a seventh-round (215th overall) pick in the 2021 Draft, on a two-year deal worth $1.72 million. His cap hit will be $860k for the next two seasons.
The 23-year-old defenseman from Altoona, WI, has been with the University of Wisconsin Badgers for four seasons. In 126 games, he's scored six goals and 26 points, with just 18 penalty minutes. When the Penguins drafted Laatsch, he was skating with the USNTDP and had played 15 games in the USHL.
